Hi, I'm Kenneth. 👋

I'm a software developer based in Costa Rica, and I've been writing code for almost 18 years — ever since I built my first website in Dreamweaver and made Flash animations back in high school. That early spark turned into a career, and it still hasn't worn off.

These days I work as a software developer at Amazon. My work has shifted over the years from writing every line myself toward planning, designing, and architecting systems — defining specs, shaping problems before they're solved, and increasingly leading AI to build what needs to be done.

What drives me

I build because I love solving problems. Code is simply the most satisfying tool I've found for making them disappear. I have a soft spot for solutions so clean nobody notices them:

Good code is the code nobody notices.

That invisible, everything-just-works quality is what I'm always chasing.

Along the way I've picked up more than just software. I design in Illustrator, produce videos, and make animations — I like carrying an idea all the way from "wouldn't it be cool if" to something you can actually see and use.

Away from the keyboard

When I'm not building things, I'm usually moving: tennis, triathlon, running, cycling, or pretty much any activity that gets me outside. Some of my best ideas show up mid-run, nowhere near a screen.

What you'll find here

This blog is where I share the cool things I find and the tools I put through their paces — homelabs and self-hosting, AI tools, videogame development, and software news, all filtered through my own honest point of view.
